Marcie Phalen

RN BSN - Psychiatric Nurse

Marcie Phalen is a Registered Nurse (RN) based in Columbus, Ohio, who holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and is currently pursuing her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (PMHNP-BC). Her work centers on providing mental health care that is accessible, respectful, and rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a chance to heal. She is committed to eliminating stigma and advocating for compassionate, patient-focused care in every setting she enters.

Marcie was raised in Bexley, a close-knit suburb of Columbus, where her parents’ work in psychology significantly shaped her upbringing. Both parents respected Ph.D. psychologists, operated a private practice, and modeled what it means to treat people with dignity and care. Observing them as they built trusting relationships with their clients, Marcie learned early on the importance of presence, active listening, and ethical integrity in mental health care. These lessons influenced her decision to pursue a path in nursing, with a particular focus on mental health support.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Aspen University in Phoenix, Arizona, where she volunteered at local clinics providing care for individuals with psychiatric needs. Her volunteer work deepened her awareness of mental health patients' challenges and helped refine her ability to respond with empathy and skill. After graduating in 2022, she joined a psychiatric hospital unit in Columbus, where she continues to grow her experience while maintaining certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Her career began in 2009 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Maxim Staffing. In this role, she provided hospice care to individuals and families, supporting them through life’s most challenging moments. That experience reinforced the value of consistent, compassionate presence and solidified her commitment to nursing. She later worked at The Woods at Parkside, supporting patients with dual diagnoses of mental illness and substance use. In 2020, she stepped into a supervisory RN/BSN role at Rivervista Health and Wellness, where she now manages patient evaluations and coordinates personalized treatment strategies.

Marcie stays involved in her community through mental health outreach programs that promote early care and emotional education. Outside work, she enjoys yoga, reading, and sharing moments with family and friends. Marcie Phalen remains dedicated to improving lives through responsible, effective, compassionate mental health care.
